110KV bend restrictors are usually deployed at the interface between flexible and rigid structures (such as J-tubes) to protect submarine cables and umbilical cables from damage caused by peripheral stress. The bend limiters are designed and manufactured with Haver structure and can be easily installed on deck platforms or construction vessels.Common specifications ID130, ID150, ID170and  ID260 bending limiter suitable for various specifications of 35KV, 110KV, 220KV submarine photoelectric composite cable.

Structure Pinciple

The bend limiter system consists of polyurethane molded parts interlocked by the Haver structure. The umbilical cable hose consists of three parts: liner, reinforcement layer and jacket. When the hose is in a free pressure state, the structure should have no obvious deflection or rotation around the axis. When the submarine cable is subjected to external loads, it can bend to a predetermined locking radius. The bend restrictor prevents excessive bending at the interface between the flexible streamline/umbilical cable/submarine cable and the rigid structure through mechanical locking.

  • The bending radius is not less than 20 times the outer diameter of the submarine cable;

  • The lateral compression is not less than 8t;

  • The lateral impact is not less than 1000Nm;

  • The breaking bending tensile force is not less than 1t;

Main Technical Requirements

  • The modular bite structure is adopted, and the length can be increased or decreased according to the use environment.

  • The module adopts the Haver structure to install the buoyancy module outside the marine riser.

  • The material adopts good and reliable products with excellent anti-deformation ability, anti-corrosion ability and high wear resistance.

  • The tensile strength of the material is not less than 45MPa.

  •  The material density is not more than 1.2×103kg/m3, and it is required that there is no additional weight on the submarine cable underwater.

  • The bending restrictor should be able to withstand 8t lateral pressure.

  • The bending radius of the bending limiter should meet the small bending radius requirements of the submarine cable.
