The J-tube seal device is the most important part of the J-tube centralisers, which is generally designed with conical or D-shaped structure using micro-elastic polymer materials.
The American Petroleum Institute (API) Manual recommends the use of 4 layers of seals on the J-tube centraliser, and the outer diameter of the seal ring is 2 to 4mm more than the inner diameter of the bell, to ensure the elastic contact between the centraliser and the J-tube and achieve the effect of sealing corrosion, while preventing the entry of seabed organisms and adhesion to the J-tube.
Features
• The J-tube seal device ensures a certain pressure difference between the inside and outside of the J-tube bellmouth.
• Polymer materials has low water absorption and is not prone to hydrolysis.
• There is a elastic contact between clamp and J-tube.
• It has low aging performance and maintains good sealing performance during thermal expansion and contraction.
The deep-water J-tube seal can be used in offshore wind farms, offshore oil and gas development and other fields, providing a more reliable guarantee for deep-sea operations
