Bend restrictor, also known as bend limiter, which limits the bending radius of a marine cable beyond its allowable minimum bend radius through mechanical locking, thereby limiting excessive bending of the cable.
The bend restrictor is made of two half shells made of polyurethane, which are fixed by bolts. This new design not only shorten the installation time , but also eliminated the possibility of wear of stainless steel fasteners.
Design Analysis
• Adopting a modular bite structure, the length can be increased or decreased according to the cable
• High performance polyurethane: corrosion resistance, high wear resistance.
• Material tensile strength ≥55MPa
• Material density ≤1.2X103g/cm³,adding no additional weight to submarine cable
• The service life of the product is not less than 25 years
• Product design compliance ApI 17L1&2
Application Field
• Submarine flexible pipes, umbilical cables and cables
• Fiber optic cables and communications
• Steel pipe and thermoplastic umbilical cable
